D.EL.ED. College

Overview

A training college approved by NCTE & Director of Primary Education Gujarat Govt. for potential primary school teachers. The college was established in 1947 to prepare efficient teachers for primary school. This is a residential course; great importance is attached to community activities including sanitation, kitchen management, serving of meals etc. with a view to making the trainees self-reliant. The trainees themselves, under the general supervision of one of the senior teachers, manage the hostel and kitchen. D.El.Ed. is the current nomenclature of the course effective from 5.3.2013 declared by the State /Central Govt.

Course

This is a two-year course with an intake of 50 trainees – boys and girls – co education. At the end of the course, trainees appear for the Primary Teachers’ Certificate Examination conducted by the State Education Department. The college has Diploma Elementary Education Examinations been able to maintain a fairly high percentage of results ranging from 85% to 100 %. Syllabus

Admission

The Central Admission Committee of the Directorate of Primary Education in Gandhinagar issues advertisements in the newspapers after declaration of HSC results. There are 50 seats in the C. N. Talimi Vidyalaya; students seek admission to this college through the centralized process.
