Student Life

The Students’ Representative Council works closely with the trainees. Hence the Council also deals with problems of discipline effectively and independently. Community cleanliness is an important item on the education program of the Training College. Sanitation of the whole institution is maintained by planned activities of the students and the services of professional sweepers are not availed of by the institution.

A week-long camp in a village is one of the major group activities during which an intensive program of correlated teaching is undertaken in a village school. The trainees come in close contact with village folk and their leaders, and organize various cultural and constructive programs in collaboration with them – such as plays, folk dances, devotional songs, village cleanliness, constructing roads, brick-laying for public buildings etc.

Special arrangements are made to inculcate in the trainees a genuine love for music and drawing. The college assemblies are so planned that the trainees at the end of their course depart with a cultural legacy in the form of about twenty five songs selected from the anthology, Vidyavihar Geetmala .They enrich not only their personal life but also their social life through various seasonal, national and other festivals of their school and the village.
