CNSA Gymnasts bag two medals for Gujarat ending 15 year hiatus
At the 28th Sub Junior (Under-12) Artistic Gymnastics National Championship held at Bhartiya Kreeda Mandir in Mumbai from 26th to 28th January 2018, Gujarat came at 4th place thanks to the overall impressive performance by its team. The Gujarat team consisted of seven gymnasts of which three girls were from CN Sports Academy (CNSA), Ahmedabad. This is the first time in 15 years that Gujarat came in the top 6 teams nationally. CNSA’s Shreena Thakker bagged a Bronze medal for her act on Balancing beam, Hirva Thakker for her Floor Sequence and Soha Parikh ranked 4th for her performance on Balancing beam. This helped Gujarat team come fourth at the National Level.
At the State Federation Championships held the earlier weekend in Baroda (19th to 21st Jan 2018), in the Mini-Sub-Junior (Under-10) category, CNSA gymnast Nishi Bhavsar emerged overall Champion and also bagged Gold medals each for individual performances on Floor and balancing beam. CNSA’s Dhoon Doshi secured a bronze medal for her performance on Balancing Beam in Mini-sub-Junior Category. In the sub Junior Category (Under 12) Soha Parikh emerged All-round silver medallist and bagged two bronze medals for her performances on Uneven Bar and balancing beam. In the floor sequence competition, CNSA’s Hirwa Thakker and Shreena Thakker secured Gold and Silver medals respectively. Shreena Thakker also emerged All-round Bronze medallist.
