This institution has been established in 1947 to prepare teachers who work honestly in rural area of Gujarat. It’s reputation spreads all over the Gujarat.. There is a hostel facility for the students who come from interior villages of Gujarat state. Along with teachers’ training, guidance for competitive examination like TET and TAT is given to the students. D.El.Ed. is the new name of PTC course which is given by government. This institution is approved by N.C.T.E. and Director of Primary Education, Gujarat State.
This is a two-year course with an intake of 100 trainees – only boys. At the end of the course, trainees appear for the Primary Teachers’ Certificate Examination conducted by the State Education Department. The college has been able to maintain a fairly high percentage of results ranging from 85% to 100 %.
The Central Admission Committee of the Directorate of Primary Education in Gandhinagar issues advertisements in the newspapers after declaration of SSC results. There are 50 seats in the C. N. Talimi Vidyalaya; students seek admission to this college through the centralized process.
